Electronic Poker is a popular game that usually will be enjoyed in casinos all over the world, or alternatively at your house on your personal computer, using a web account. The rules are very straightforward and involve the player trying to get the greatest combination of cards possible in order to win cash. On this account it’s very similar as a classic game of poker, apart from the interaction with competing players. Of course, methods employed during a physical game of poker, like tricking, will be useless in Video Poker.

The game of Electronic Poker starts when the enthusiast puts credits (either tokens, tickets or money) into the machine and presses the draw button. A five card hand will be electronically ‘dealt’ on the screen.

The Electronic Poker machine also has hold buttons, and bettors should now decide which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the player would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, whether it is all or none.

After the bettor has selected which cards he or she would like to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, at which point any new cards are needed they will be dealt. The hand is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the pay out schedule.

Typically, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the pay out schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that experienced players are able to pick the most money-making machine each and every instance.

After the initial round has finished, the player can either choose to remain on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that has been won. Further, several styles of the game give the gambler a chance to double their profits, in which case a further round is played. There are also variations among individual machines, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other differing elements to increase playability.
