Electronic Poker is a popular game that can be played in casinos all over the globe, or alternatively at home on your computer, through an Internet account. The game rules are very straightforward and involve the player trying to achieve the best assemblage of cards achievable in order to come away with money. In this respect it’s very similar as a classic game of poker, without the line of contact with other players. Of course, techniques used in a physical game of poker, like bluffing, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.

The game of Video Poker begins when the enthusiast inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and presses the draw button. A five card hand will then be electronically ‘given out’ on the video screen.

The Video Poker game also has hold buttons, and bettors should now pick which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the player would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, whether it is all or none.

A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the pay out schedule can range from machine to machine, so that skillful gamblers are agile enough to choose the most profitable machine each instance.

Once the initial round has finished, the player can either choose to continue on and try to to increase their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that might been won. Further, a few styles of the game allow the bettor a chance to double their wins, in which instance another game is played. There are also differences among individual machines, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other differing aspects to increase playability.
