Electronic Poker is a favored game that usually will be gambled on in casinos throughout the world, or in your house on your computer, through a web connection. The game rules are very straightforward and involve the player attempting to get the greatest combination of cards achievable in order to acquire money. In this respect it’s very similar as a classic game of poker, without the interaction with other players. Of course, techniques employed during a real-life game of poker, such as tricking, will be irrelevant here.
The game of Video Poker starts when the player inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and presses the draw button. A hand of 5 cards will then be "handed out" on the screen.
The Electronic Poker game also has hold buttons, and gamblers should now choose which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the bettor wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they wish, whether it’s all or none.
After the gambler has decided on which cards he would like to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards are given out if desired. The round is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands listed in the pay out schedule.
Typically, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that experienced bettors are agile enough to choose the most beneficial machine each time.
As soon as the first round has played out, the player can either choose to remain on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that they may have won. Further, several versions of the game allow the gambler an opportunity to double their wins, in which case a further game is played. There are also differences among specific machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other varying characteristics to increase playability.
